Why the tools run in your browser

PDFChamp has no upload endpoint. When you choose a file, the browser reads it from your disk into the memory of the tab you already have open, and the JavaScript and WebAssembly that arrived with the page do the work there. The finished document is written straight back to your downloads. No server holds a copy, because no server is in the path at all.

That one decision settles most of what you notice. No account, since there is nothing to attach one to. No queue and no upload bar, so a 200-page file starts processing the moment you drop it in. No watermark, no daily limit, and no paid tier hiding the feature you came for. Once the page has loaded, most tools keep working with the network disconnected.

The trade-off is worth stating plainly: the work runs on your own device, so a very large file is bounded by your memory and processor rather than by rented hardware. For the everyday jobs above — merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing — that is a trade worth making.
